T1 line price comparison

T1-Line price comparison

As you may know, T1's usually cost around $500 to $2000 a month depending on your location and the service provider that you ordered the T1 line from. This is a considerable difference of pricing than dialup, DSL or cable Internet. Dial-up may cost anywhere from $5 to $21 dollars depending on the services that may be available with the dial-up Internet application that is provided by the ISP. Features such as Chats, Email, Homepages, and etc. may add on top of your costs to your services. DSL and cable Internet range from $30 and anywhere up to $500 a month. Residential services for DSL or Cable Internet may cost cheaper, but you would lose substantial amount of bandwidth to other consumers that may “hog up” the bandwidth that is being shared. Usually “Business” DSL or Cable is shared with other consumers, but it is at a smaller ratio of consumers sharing the line than Residential DSL or Cable Internet. The ratio of shared bandwidth is a large factor in the Internet access pricing. Dedicated T1 lines have a 1:1 ratio, which typically has a larger price tag than “Burstable” (shared) T1 lines. You basically get what you pay for.
